The end of an era

By Josh Quittner on April 8, 2009

An amazing thing happened today: The battery on my Kindle 2 finally ran out of juice.

Amazing because, with the wireless connection off, it lasted nearly two months. I used it about a half hour a day. Glad I hedged in my story and said the battery would last "more than two weeks."

  1. That's great, I'm happy for you, Josh. When the battery recharges you can check your bookmarks because you posted to Lev's blog again... Not that we mind, I'm sure; at least you're interesting and not crazy. Not like that schizo "Joel Stein" / "Joe Klein" guy, anyway. I'm convinced they're actually the same person. They've never been seen in the same room at the same time, have they... And I have a sneaking suspicion that they ghost write for Newsweek under "Dan Lyons", but that's just a hunch.

  2. I love the Kindle! I use a Kindle 1.0. I have to charge it every 4 days as I use it about 1.5 hours a day. Holding a subway pole and juggling a fat book was not fun. But now I can hold the pole in one hand and TURN pages with the other. My really stupid biblio-loving complaint--I can't ask an author to sign it. Sigh.
