That's the gist of this post at io9, which links to this tweet -- I will never stop hating that word -- from Felicia Day:
Man, day getting worse and worse. Found out my Dollhouse ep, #13 isn't gonna air. Only on DVD. Such a great part too. Thx Fox.

Whedonesque neither confirms nor denies. Drag, if true. Especially since, apparently, Alan Tudyk (a.k.a. Wash from Firefly) was in that last ep. Not that Dollhouse is so unbearably great or anything, but in general I'm in favor of letting shows find their feet, which I don't think it has quite had time to do.

No Lev, it had *just enough* time to find its feet. It was just getting interesting, and they killed it.
Still, it could have been worse. C.f. Alias, where they lobotomized it, and let it gimp along for another couple seasons.
I only wish it got the BSG treatment...

Fox has Fireflied us once again....
.
And speaking of Firefly, anyone ever notice how BSG used the same visual style to do their awesome space battles?

Not to mention that Firefly-class ships (maybe Serenity) made appearances in BSG.

@jsyi - That's right! I forgot that Serenity made a cameo on BSG.
.
And of course the same guy who played Helo on BSG is on Dollhouse.

If you read the update on the io9 article it hasn't been cancelled, they just produced one more episode than was required.

Well, it's still sad that the actual finale envisioned by Whedon is the one that we may not get to see.
This, of course, coming from someone who has only seen 2 episodes of the show so far.

I'm not a Whedonite, and I was never entirely sold on this show, though it's shown more promise in recent weeks than I figured it would, but seriously: what is going on with Fox and NBC: First they commission high concept, high cost shows that they know they're taking a chance on, then they stick 'em in a death slot and all-but-kill them. Once or twice is bad planning, but why why why do they keep doing this?
