I'm coming to this almost exactly one calendar year late. The Legend of Neil is a no-budget video series about a guy who accidentally gets projected into The Legend of Zelda. It could be lame. But it's not, it's very clever.
Also it's NSFW. I would embed it here anyway, but any video client besides YouTube gives WordPress a migraine.

Ah, so you've worked back one year. I wonder how long it will take until...
(And yeah, LoN is awesome, although I'm slightly concerned about the retcon at the beginning of season 2.)

So if we came up with some concept where we inserted one of the regulars from here into BSG footage and put it on the net, could we expect that you'd eventually watch it?

@Kemper I like the way you think. I don't understand it all the time, but I like it.
Hey, Lev. You really need to check out Horatio Hornblower. Also, Cold Squad. And the April '06 issue of Maxim.

It's not too late, I'm still giving you geek cred. Thanks for spreading the word, lots of love for LoN

Now I know what would happen if lonely NES nerds ever developed Cylon projection.
@Church- does that really qualify as retconning? Don't they need to actually change some part of the premise before we raise the red flat. Seemed like they just filled in the backstory a little more to me.

I guess I'll have to wait until my wife takes my daughter to the carnival before I watch it. But when I do, watch out, world, my witty and insightful four-line comment will make you laugh and weep with jealousy that you didn't think of it!

By the way, is using someone else's blog's comments to make witty and insightful statements leeching or just grandstanding?

I'm not sure if it's technically one or not. On second thought, I'd lean toward not. We'll see what they do with it.
Amusingly, pinning down exactly what was a ret-con and what wasn't was one of the major pasttimes on the BSG boards...

Not to draw nerdworld into something as 'hard to get into' as teevee, but I just thought some folks would like to read JP's latest post, in which he mentions that BSG won the TV Critics Association award for 'Program of the Year'. Not that a science fiction show receiving such an award necessitates nerdly interest, or anything.

Hrm, that might be worthy of a blog post somewhere...

If only there were some technology that would enable someone who missed BSG's original airings to be able to go back and watch them. I guess that kind of thing won't be available until FTL drives actually exist. Too bad because if there was a way to watch them cheaply and easily, I'm sure no blogger reporting on geek culture would pass that up.

Hey, BSG-pushers, see if this makes it through your Klingon skulls: There's over 3,300 minutes required to watch the series. That's over 50 hours, enough time for Lev, the Speedy Gonzales of Fantasy, to write at least three sequels to The Magicians (or to watch 6,600 commercials on BestAdsOnTV.com!). Since pop culture has made it almost impossible to NOT know what happened in the last episodes, that's a hell of a commitment for a known outcome.

Klingon skulls? Geez, somebody woke up on wrong side of the resurrection tank this morning.....

Yeah, I guess that was a little extreme. I don't know of a metaphor that means stubborn from the BSG universe, though I'm sure it includes the word "frack".

BSG-pushers? Oh, I like that.
Come on Lev, I'll let you see the mini-series for free. But after that it'll cost you- 3300 minutes of pure pleasure. Incidentally, that' enough time for the Cylons to sniff out the Olympic Carrier 100 times.

I'd suggest comparisons to the original Pegasus commander when trying to illustrate stubborness to the point of insanity. For example, "You BSG pushers make Admiral Cain look frakking reasonable!"
