OK, I totally need to do a new post, because the last one is growing comments in this weird, tumorous way that made me think it might become sentient shortly.
So I will merely call out for you the birth of two new stars that have brightened the firmament of nerd culture. The first is a new episode of The Legend of Neil, which if you haven't been watching, it's worth going through from the beginning. I'm still haunted by the spectre of Neil's girlfriend, in the second season opener. "You can't even beat that old Nintendo game you're always playing ... "
Also, a dead star the light of which is only just now reaching my nerdy eyes: DM of the Rings, wherein The Lord of the Rings is reframed as a D&D campaign, i.e. the hobbits just keep bitching about how there's no loot. "And do we have to be hobbits? My stats are rubbish ... "

Time to read years-old web content and not watch Blah blah blah...
OK, with that out of the way: Holy crap what is up with Time.com? The ads just exploded on me this time. Yes, Smart Choices Program, I am label conscious. And your label is "annoying."

It's never good when anything computer or machine related threatens to become sentient.

Wow, I knew about a nerdy thing before Lev. The world must be ending. DMotR is awesome! The whole blog that grew out of the comic makes for good reading, actually, and is one of my daily stops.

My college mates and I used to have a non-verbal symbol we'd use for a friend of ours who was constantly telling the same stories over to us. It was our polite way of informing her that we'd heard her tale before. Lev, as you were re-informing us about Legend of Neil (weblink) I was mentally making the symbol.
Hmm. DMotR, eh? Can any satire ever top Harvard Lampoon's Bored of the Rings? I think not, but I won't let that stop me from checking out your link.

Whoops, forgot my obligatory reference. Here you go:
Hey Lev, rather than post about something you've already brought our attention to previously, why don't you follow JP's lead over at Tuned In? You know, give us nerds something we want to talk about?

My verdict on DMotR: not as good as BotR, but then how could it be? It was still a couple of hours of good entertainment, plus something about the dynamic between the hapless DM and the players who tried to stick it to him reminded me of Nerd World.
