Thursday Morning Omnipost

I have to run and get on a train, and my new iPhone has chosen this moment to apparently take its own life, maybe because it couldn't face an eternity of running Wurdle over and over again. I will vent my frustration on you with a hasty and incoherent blog post.

Not that the world isn't, on its own, fundamentally incoherent. Evidence: Fast and Furious 4 "helmer" Justin Lin is apparently going to remake Highlander. Meanwhile they're making sequels to Daredevil and Ghost Rider. And apparently David Cronenberg is remaking his own movie, The Fly. I don't see any obvious explanation for any of this.

And if that isn't enough, Microsoft appears to be in danger of actually producing a useful consumer technology product. This is a demo of its new dual-screen tablet project, Courier, a project apparently belonging to Xbox wunderkind J Allard:

This can't be awesome. It must be lame. If only I could figure out why ... or how ...

  1. Incoherent blog response:
I went and looked for Wurdle on my G1 after reading your last post. I found an app called "Wordup!" that is identical to Wurdle. It has destroyed my productivity. Oh, also, I found I have to disable words under 4 letters, because some of those acronyms and other nonsense were driving me insane.

I think I want a Courier..... but can it make phone calls? Skype app perhaps?

  5. Remaking Highlander? Sequels to Daredevil and Ghost Rider? Why that's as bad as if someone decided to make a new big screen version of Battlestar Galactica with no connnection to the show. Why, Bryan Singer, why?

  7. I agree that the Bryan Singer thing is mindblowing. Doesn't he have anything better to do? I mean, BSG has been done recently and done well. What is he hoping to accomplish?

  8. Whenever I click the little WordPress "remember me" box I think something significant is going to happen. It seems like it should be, I mean I'm asking a whole website to remember me.

Oh, and I'm only going to watch the BSG movie if Daggett is in it. That's why I never watched the reboot.

  9. That objection to watching the reboot makes exactly as much sense as Lev's.

  11. Daredevil sequel or reboot? The latter worked for Hulk. Daredevil is one of my favorite characters. Just have BMB script it. And no Ben Affleck please.

  12. I actually wake up early and play Wurdle in bed instead of sleep. Can I get some sort of nerd trophy?
