I finally broke down and watched the first episode of BSG last night. It sucked.

Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on? Why do the Cylons appear every 33 minutes? What's with the doctor and the hot blonde Cylon? Does this stuff get revealed at some point? Is 33 the first episode or did I miss something somewhere?
I fell asleep during the second episode so I'll have to watch that one and the rest of the first season this weekend. Oh, I have the entire series now so expect random commentary from me going forward. If I end up hating this show then I'm blaming you guys.
Um...you watched the miniseries before the first episode right? Please tell me you saw the frakking miniseries before the first episode.

It's not too late, 33 is a bit of a bottle show. Just go watch the miniseries so you'll have a better idea of some of the character dynamics.

I didn't watch BSG during its run because I had missed the first couple seasons and didn't have cable. I eventually gave up and figured I'd watch after it ran its course and after all the hype. So, yeah, I didn't know about the miniseries until now.

I didn't know about the miniseries!
I started watching it around 11:30 last night after a few beers. I was tired!
I'll find the miniseries somewhere this weekend and watch it. I'll report back on Monday.

Meh, it's all good. Sometimes it's fun to get a taste of series and then start from the beginning. I saw the third season of House before I watched season 1 and 2.

Yeah, I've been waiting for the miniseries to make it's way up my Netflix queue from #95 but it never gets farther than 80 or so before my daughter's Disney movies or the new season of Entourage pushes it back down again. Someday it'll make it to the top, and hopefully by then I'll have forgotten that they randomly decided (redacted) and (redacted) were actually Cylons in the final episode or two.

Peter, I'm glad you're enjoying BSG, and are responsive to your fans, but, frankly, this is about Lev, his cussed stubborness, his nerd credentials, and the desire of his readers for his enlightenment, enjoyment, and BSG club-membership. You've made a good decision waiting to watch the series until after it's in the books. It's fantastic as a whole, the ending sucks and there are some real snoozers. There's nothing worse than waiting a week to see an episode only to discover that it's a talky episode. FRAK! Now I have to wait another week! Not you though, you can just cue up the next episode.
Be warned, the escape from new Caprica will blow your mind. The thing is that BSG raised the bar for Sci-Fi awesomeness with that episode. Lev hasn't seen it, so he doesn't even know that the bar has been raised. Now everything he says with respect to Sci-Fi awesomeness has to be disregarded. His credentials simply fail.

OMG, in your defense, I didn't know about the miniseries at first either. I started watching the first episode and it was obvious that I had NFI what was going on, so I consulted Teh Internets, and realized I had erred. So, I feel your pain.

Full Disclosure: I watched the original airing of 'The Resistance' randomly, and didn't think enough of it to watch regularly. A few months later I caught 'Pegasus, Part II' on its original Friday run, and had downloaded (and watched!) the entire mini-series, 1st season, and season 2.0 from iTunes by Sunday evening. Yeah, it was that good.
