Trekkies-
I'm here to inform you that J.J. Abrams' Star Trek will be available on DVD and Blu-ray next Tuesday. It's probably already on your calendar, so consider this a friendly reminder. With that being said, I would love to appease your rage over the Nerd World relaunch with a peace offering. On Monday we'll be giving out a large number of PlayStation Network codes for a free copy of Star Trek. That's a day before everyone else will be able to get their mitts on it. How does that sound?
Update: Sooo....the movie won't actually be available for download until Paramount and PlayStation release it into the PSN Store. We may be giving the codes out on Monday, but it won't do much for you until Tuesday. With that being said, we will have PSN download codes for the Star Trek: D-A-C video game on Monday instead. The game is actually available now via PSN if you don't feel like waiting until Monday. Shout out to PlayStation Network for hooking us up with movie codes and Paramount Digital Entertainment for the game codes. See y'all on Monday when TECHLAND launches.

Ok, I'm in. Just tell us where to line up for the codes.

You sly dog. And does this just happen to coincide with the launch of techland on the 16th? How did you know that free stuff is my kryptonite?

And what kind of bribes will you be offering us X-Box owners? *shakes fist* My rage continues.

That's not going to work with my 2600, is it?

Don't forget the Wii owners. And by the way Nerd World was a kind of Sanctuary, but Techland just sounds like every other faux geeky blog hosted by some suit and tie guy. I'm not dissing the cred of the Lev, but now I have to learn to like all of these other people to.

How does that sound?
It sounds like you think I have a video gaming system. I'm in the same boat as Church- the only way to assuage my rage is through more relevant bribery. Or a signed confession from Leverus admitting that he actually has watched BSG.

Yawn. I didn't bother to see it on the big screen. I'll watch it whenever it arrives from Netflix. And this comes from a TOS fan with prop toys on his shelf.

Let's be honest, not exactly setting a high bar there.
Just glad that by the time I could actually play the game most everything had been fixed

Just for clarification: will this code only result in a digital copy, or is there some mechanism by which it will produce a physical copy as well?

"Trekkies"
What a faux pas. Everyone knows that "Trekkers" is the correct term for the elite fans that a blog such as this attracts. I can't say the same for one called Techland.

Meh. "Trekkers" was for the overthinking crowd (which we tread lightly around, since they were the ones putting everything together) but the rank and file always used "Trekkies." We knew "Trekkers" wasn't fooling anyone.
