The Winter of Thor. Filming starts in January!

Marvel is steamrolling ahead with it's big-time big-screen adaptation of “Thor,” all eyes fixed on a May 2011 release.

According to Production Weekly, director Kenneth Branagh is set to start filming in Los Angeles in mid-January, before shifting production to Santa Fe, New Mexico for a March-April stint.

Starring Chris Hemsworth as Donald Blake himself – that's George Kirk, for all your “Star Trek” fans getting excited about tomorrow's DVD release – Natalie Portman has also been cast to star as Jane Foster. It's all happening, people!

  1. This is going to be fantastic. Kenneth Branagh directing is pretty incredible.

    Also - ANTHONY HOPKINS AS ODIN! (so says IMDB) And are George and Daniel similar to James and Donald?
