FULL LIST: Techland's 10 Worst Superhero Movies of the Decade
It's been an incredible decade for the comic book industry in Hollywood. We not only saw the rebirth of the Batman franchise thanks to Christopher Nolan, but we also saw the rise of Marvel Studios with Iron Man. Things are looking up for the rest of the superhero universe in the upcoming decade, but we certainly can't forget about the flops and utter disappointments from the 2000s. History is doomed to repeat itself and that much is obvious with rumors that Ghost Rider will be blazing his way back onto the screen along with even more Spider-Man and X-Men films.
(More on Techland: Best of the Decade: Sci-Fi Movies)
I'm no film critic (since, you know, that's Steve's deal) but I'm a big enough comic book nerd that I felt the need to put a list together of the worst superhero movies of the decade. I thought this would be an easy list to compile but it wasn't. There were a ton of craptacular superhero movies this decade. I could have stretched this out to 20 but then I'd basically be including every terrible superhero movie made in the last 10 years.
Without further ado, here are the Top 10 Worst Superhero Movies of the Decade. Meooooooowwww.

I'd rather marathon this whole list twice than watch 10 minutes of Fantastic Four. And without having seen it I'd guess the sequel was worse

While I agree that Daredevil is an awful movie, is it really Ben Affleck's fault? Mark Steven Johnson is a terrible director who has two movies on this list. I really think we need to put the spotlight on him for that failure.

D'oh. I forgot to add our honorable mentions list, which includes both Fantastic Four movies.

The League wouldn't have been so bad if they didn't include that rootin' tootin' western chap. God, that was awful.
And Spider-man 3. WORST. That should've been #1. I will gouge my own eyes out if I have to watch that again.

I have to agree with that Techland staffer on League. She, I mean whoever it is, was totally right.

Yes. It's like he has the anti-Midas touch, where everything turns to crap instead of gold.
I'm glad the Thomas Jane Punisher didn't make the list, if for nothing else but the ending where John Travola's character is dragged through the burning parking lot full of exploding cars. I had to replay that a few times as psychic payback to Travolta for Battlefield Earth.

1)Daredevil was a Badly made movie, the talent including Affleck, could have been used to shoot a good one. If you don't like Affleck's acting style or ability or look you are going to be more prone to hate a movie that he is in most scenes... My biggest complaint is that they keep butchering The Kingpin.
2)Ghost Rider wasn't great or very good, but I disagree as that it was amongst the worst of all time. Tweek the story and direction and keep it closer to the roots of Johny Blaze and that version of the movie is salvagable.
3)The last two incarnations of the Punisher were pale versions of the original, and the although the last one came the closest, it made too many movie making mistakes in what it tried to do that took you out of the movie. I think it was more technical and plot errors that those. Meh, yes, worst of the decade, no.
Here is my list:
10)X-Men:The last stand (The last betrayal is more like it)
9)Hulk
8)League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (Not only did they change Moore's vision, but then because on location flooding had to shoot the movie in record time with little time for reshoots)
7)The Spirit
6)Watchmen... YES WATCHMEN... Read the comics and then read the backstory at places like Wikipedia. If you want to watch THE REAL WATCHMEN and not the joke they made get "The Motion Comic"... it is abridged but at least you get the whole plot. If I were to reshoot the movie myself, I would use most of the actors and crew for this movie, not to mention some of the effects are so good you don't know they are effects. BUT IT STILL ISN"T WATCHMEN!!
5)Electra
4)Catwoman
3)Man-Thing Look it up.
2)The Crow: Salvation
1)The Crow: Wicked Prayer This one has been butchered in editing and has a preformance by Dennis Hopper as a Satanist Worshipping Ebonics Talking Pimp. On the other hand don't, a sight once seen cannot be unseen, and I really wish I could unsee that.

The 00's had some bad comic book movies I admit. But none of them can top a bomb from the decade before: Batman and Robin. To quote Entertainment Weekly: There are nipples on the bat suit. Nipples. On. The. Batsuit. Somehow Nic Cage's bad toupee doesn't look so bad after that.
